KRAVE Jerky Review and Giveaway

KRAVE Jerky

I never really liked beef jerky very much but had heard about KRAVE Jerky and heard it was different than the common every day jerky I wanted to try it.  Here is a little about KRAVE Jerky and about the owner.

  • What is KRAVE?
KRAVE is jerky elevated – no longer must consumers settle for tough, chemically-processed products, but instead can turn to a flavorful, artisanal snack crafted with care and made using only high-quality ingredients. A cut above the old, leathery, chemically processed products, KRAVE represents a jerky renaissance, providing an all-natural snack that is both healthy and flavorful. Consumers can now enjoy a jerky for all seasons with KRAVE's wide selection of innovative flavors including basil citrus and lemon garlic (turkey); chili lime, curry, garlic chili pepper and pineapple orange (beef); and smoky grilled teriyaki (pork). Unlike virtually all other food and beverage categories, the meat snack/jerky division has long been short on excitement and creativity, crying out for innovation and contemporary alternatives to the large meat processors' status quo. KRAVE saw the opportunity to disrupt this sleepy food category with an elevated product that is all beef and no bull and has premium flavor profiles and healthier attributes. Devoid of any nitrates, MSG or artificial flavors, all-natural KRAVE jerky has an elevated conscience.

  • Who is KRAVE?
Born with a wooden spoon in his mouth to a lauded Sonoma County wine family, KRAVE founder and CEO Jonathan Sebastiani has grown up working in and surrounded by the culinary and wine industry. From these years of experience, he has developed a keen sense of flavor and a respect for the process needed to develop a food product with integrity. Sebastiani has the tools and skill set to create and educate consumers about a new breed of jerky. Seeking natural renewable energy in the form of a healthy, high-protein snack while training for the New York Marathon, Sebastiani came to appreciate the merits of jerky and, in turn, the need for a more innovative jerky product. KRAVE delights in the playful irony of a low-brow snack meat developed amidst the privileged wine country lifestyle. The same man who once worked to knock wine off its pedestal with "Wine Brats", a marketing and business initiative to make wine more approachable to young adults, Jon Sebastiani now seeks to bring class to jerky by placing it on that very pedestal and asking that skeptical foodies give in to the krave.

I received 5 packages of KRAVE Jerky.  I received the Basil Citrus, Chili Lime, Garlic Chili Pepper, Smoked Grilled Teriyaki, and Sweet Chipotle. I really love how much flavor each one had and how different the flavors are from each other.  I think my favorite was the Chili Lime. It had a nice spicy with a hint of lime.  What  I liked best about KRAVE Jerky is how soft it was. it is also surprisingly healthy, 97% fat free, and hunger-satisfying. It is pretty low calorie too ranging from 50-100 calories per serving.  The jerky is made either from turkey, beef or pork.

I would recommend trying KRAVE Jerky.  It is not your average jerky that is for sure.
